Elizabeth Ann Phillips, 55, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:57 P.M., Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Liz had been a telecommunicator for the Perry County Sheriff's Department for twenty-four and a half years.  She was of the Catholic faith.  She was a member of F.O.P. Union.
She was born July 5, 1949 at St. Louis, MO, the daughter of John Robert and Dorothy Ann (Smith) Phillips.
She is survived by two daughters - Katrina Phillips (Tasha) of Carbondale and Dorothy Phillips (Rashid) of St. Louis, MO, five grandchildren - Cortney Phillips of Carbondale, Rashae Clark of St. Louis, MO, Karron Clark of St. Louis, MO, Akeya Chapman of Carbondale, and Gavin Chapman of Carbondale, two brothers - Stephen Phillips of Du Quoin and Edward Phillips of Carbondale, one sister - Doloress Phillips of Missouri, uncles and aunts - Jack Smith of St. Paul, MN, Harry Smith Sr. and Vida Smith of St. Louis, MO, Pearl Smith of St. Louis, MO, and Alberta Burris of St. Paul, MN, nieces and nephews - Mechelle Phillips of Shaumburg, IL, Cinneamone Phillips of Texas, Cassandra Montez of California, Mattie Phillips of California, Stephanie Rose of Du Quoin, Tiffany Matthews of Missouri, Robert Phillips of Missouri, Rhonda Walker of Missouri, Cody Rose of Du Quoin, Timothy Rose of Du Quoin and Ryan Bailey of Du Quoin, ex-husband and long time friend - Bernie Towns of St. Louis, MO and numerous other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister - Mary Margaret Walker, and one brother - John Robert Phillips.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Monday, January 17, 2005 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Norman Greer officiating.
Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Arthritis Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
